Bishop James Oglethorpe Patterson, Jr. A descendant of Bishop Charles Harrison Mason, the founder of the Church of God In Christ, The Right Reverend James Oglethorpe Patterson, Jr., was born on May 28, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee to the union of the late Presiding Bishop James Oglethorpe Patterson, Sr. and Mother Deborah Mason Patterson. Bishop Patterson was promoted from Earth to Glory on Saturday, June 25, 2011.
