PROFILE OF LIFE BOBBIE JEAN SUTTLES GRIFFIN was
born October 8, 1951 in Memphis, TN to the late Marvin and Ethel
Suttles. She was the second of ten children, and the only one preceding
her in death was Marva Louise Suttles Williams. She confessed her hope
in Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Mark Missionary
Baptist Church. Bobbie Jean graduated from Booker T. Washington High
School in 1971 and opened her own beauty salon (Bobbie’s Beauty Salon)
around 1982 and ran a successful business for many years. Later, she
worked for Kroger Supermarket and did so for in 15 years until her
death. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Yul Luther Griffin,
In addition, she leaves her six sisters - Lysandere J. Armstrong (Carl),
Marcella E. Johnson (Sherman), Madelyn A. Currie, Gale Ware, Vaness A
Mitchell, Diane L. Todd (Anthony); two brothers - Marvin L. Suttles, Jr.
(Barbara) and Glenn M Suttles; two aunts - Marie Thompson and Rannie
Gardner, one great aunt - Willie Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, December 12, 2008, 6-8
p.m. at R.S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home, 374 Vance Ave. Also a Visitation
December 13 at St Mark Missionary Baptist Church with a Homegoing
Service following at 11 a.m. Rev. J.C. Bachus officiating with burial in
New Park Cemetery, Horn Lake location. R.S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home
