CHARLENE COOPER, 86, of Memphis, retired cook,
widow of Joseph Cooper, retired cook for Christian Brothers University,
alumnus of Booker T. Washington High School died on Sunday, May 17, 2009
at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Visitation Saturday, May 23, 2009 from
10-11:55 am at Gethsemane Church of God in Christ 1740 Vollentine Avenue
where she was a member and served on the Mother’s Board with Funeral
Ceremony at 12 Noon. Interment will follow at Fredonia Memorial Gardens
in Mason, TN. Bishop Samuel L. Lowe officiating. She leaves to cherish
her memory her children, Mark Cannon (Crystal), Lois Reed (Phillip),
Tamaran Miller, Erica Miller, Christopher Miller, Cedrick Killebrew,
Emmanuel Fowler and Charles Tate, Jr., a daughter-in-law, Shirley
Golden, sixteen grandchildren and a host of children she raised, other
