CHARLES A. ADAIR, SR., 71, of Memphis, TN, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009. A lifelong Memphian, Mr. Adair graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, LeMoyne-Owen College and the University of Memphis. He was a retired educator for Memphis City Schools and Medical Technologist for the Regional Medical Center of Memphis, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Holloway Adair and Essie (Lemmons) Adair. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Theris (Horne) Adair, daughters Denise L. Adair, Lisa J. Adair (Wilbert) Daniel and Valerie L. Adair, sons Charles A. Adair, Jr., Brian K. Adair and Eric M. Adair, granddaughters Chloe Daniel and Victoria Adair; sister Diane A. (Robert) Coleman, brothers Holloway W. Adair and Robert E. (Margaret) Adair, Sr., and a host of family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by R. S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home, 374 Vance Ave, Memphis, TN, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Funeral service will be at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 30, 2009 , Father John Geaney CSP officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
