CHASTENE THOMPSON, SR., 85, of Bartlett, husband of
57 years of Margaret L. Thompson, retired teacher and principal for
Memphis City Schools, alumnus of Booker T. Washington, Tennessee State
University and received his master’s degree from Indiana State
University died on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at his residence. The following
services will be held at New Philadelphia Baptist Church, 533 So.
Mendenhall where he was a member. Visitation Friday, May 15, 2009 from
6-8 p.m. . In state on Saturday, May 16, from 10-10:55 a.m. with Funeral
Ceremony at 11 a.m., Reverend Chester L. Berryhill, Jr. officiating. He
leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Margaret L. Thompson, five
children, Saundra Y. Thompson of Millington, Chastene (Stephanie)
Thompson, Jr. of Bartlett, Darrell K. (Phyllis) Thompson of Bartlett,
Patricia A. Thompson of Covington and Reginald L. Thompson of Bartlett,
two grandchildren, Kabrina Thompson and Kalyn Thompson and a host of
