OBITUARIES

ELBERT BETEET, 79, retired postal employee and a U.S. Army veteran, died January 11, 2009 in Jackson, MS. Service, 11 a.m. Thursday, January 15 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1169 Kerr Ave. Burial will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Beteet was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School Class of ‘47 and a member of St. Augustine Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Patterson Beteet.
