ESSIE G. SHAW, 82, of Memphis, widow of Burnie Shaw, retired teacher of 25 years of Memphis City Schools, graduate of Booker T. Washington Class of ’47, Tennessee State University and Memphis State University and member of NEA, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. died on Friday, December 11, 2009 at her residence. The following services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 1355 Vollentine, where she was a faithful member. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 5-6:55 p.m. The Omega services will begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation Friday, December 18, 2009 from 10-10:55 a.m. with Funeral Ceremony at 11 a.m., Pastor Walter Green officiating. Interment in New Park Cemetery, 4536 Horn Lake Road. Her life and legacy will be remembered by her sons, Burnie A. (Marty) Shaw and Eric S.
