FRED "Sonny Red" LEE JEFFRIES, SR., 73, of Memphis,
passed away Friday, May 2, 2008 at his home. He was a graduate from
Booker T. Washington, Class of 1954, was inducted into the United States
Army and later retired from American Airlines. Visitation from 1-3 p.m.
Sunday, May 11, 2008 Services at 11 a.m., Monday, May 12, both at M. J.
Edwards Funeral Home, 1165 Airways Blvd. Burial in New Park Cemetery. He
is survived by daughter, LaShun (Carl) Jeffries-Lyles; sons, Fred Lee
Jeffries, Jr. and Timothy J. Porter; grandchildren, Latoria Jackson,
Ashley Townsend, Lauren Porter and Christiane Porter; and one
