OBITUARIES

 

 

GARRETT HUGH “Dwight” JONES, 63, Shelby County Deputy Jailer, of Germantown, died September 5, 2010 at his home. He was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend. He was a true artist and horticulturist. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m., Friday, September 10 at E. H. Ford Mortuary. Services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 11 at New Nonconnah Baptist Church, with burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. He leaves his wife, Velma Jones; four sons, Patrick Hamilton, Mario Berry, Darius Jones and Gerick Dion Jones; six sisters, six brothers; one granddaughter, Sha’Darien Jones, that he was raising as his own and 10 other grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
