IDA WASHINGTON JAMISON of
Memphis, Tennessee, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at The Manor, Kirby
Pines Retirement Community. She graduated from Booker T. Washington
High School and received training at the Collins Chapel Nursing
School. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold A. Jamison. She
is survived by three devoted daughters, Carole (Walter II) Parrish
of Williamsburg, Virginia, Alva Jean (Alvin) Crawford of Cincinnati,
Ohio, and Cenetta (Charles) Lee of Southport, North Carolina. She
leaves four grandchildren, Ceneta Lee-Williams of Stamford,
Connecticut, Carole K. Crawford of Washington, DC, Alvin H.
Crawford, Jr. of New York, New York, Charles A. Lee of Danbury,
Connecticut; four great-granddaughters, Chantal R. Williams, Caitlin
and Sophia Lee and Mia Crawford; one sister, Clara McAdams of Los
Angeles, California; one niece, Sandra Parks of Memphis, Tennessee;
two nephews, Dell Arthur Crowder of Los Angeles, California and E.
Bryce McAdams, Jr. of Mountain View, California, and a host of other
relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 12 at
10 a.m. at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, 767 Walker Ave.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 11 from 5-7 p.m. at R. S. Lewis
Funeral Home, 374 Vance Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations
may be sent to The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, 1900
Union Avenue, for the Harold and Ida Jamison Scholarship Fund. R. S.
