OBITUARIES

JAMES THORNTON, 61, of Memphis, TN, died Thursday, November 6, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital Memphis. Mr. Thornton was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service. He was the son of the late Deaobry Thornton and the late Carolyn Jones Thornton. He is survived by one daughter, Ayana Thornton Moore of White Plains, MD; two sons, Jenario B. Thornton, Malcolm Thornton, both of Memphis, TN; one sister, Carolyn Taylor of Memphis, TN; four brothers, George A. LeSeur of Memphis, TN, Chester LeSure of Harvey, IL, Lester LeSure of Oklahoma City, OK, Rev. Percy Thornton of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren. R. S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home, 374 Vance, is handling arrangements. The visitation will be at Avery Chapel A.M.E Church from 11 a.m. to 12:55 p.m., Tuesday, November 11.
