KATHERINE JEANETTE WALKER
CLOMAN, 93, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at her home. A
child of God beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt,
friend, homemaker, Booker T. Washington alumnus, member of the
Eastern Star Order, University of Memphis basketball fan, Atlanta
Braves fan, and fan of both the Price is Right and the current Let’s
Make a Deal shows were all labels that brought joy to her heart. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cloman. Mrs. Cloman,
long-time resident of the Magnolia-Barksdales community will be
fondly remembered as the “Snowball Lady”. She took an idea that her
children wanted to do one summer and turned it into a two-year
lesson in economics. She was adored and admired by the community.
She was a long time member of Magnolia First Baptist Church which
she loved. Her loss of hearing and failing health lessened her
activeness, but not her faith. She began to use her good penmanship
and writing skills to connect with people. She used this home
ministry to make others happy, but she in turn was made happy. She
leaves three children, Carolyn Cloman Moore, Patricia Cloman Thomas,
David Cloman and a host of family and friends. Visitation services
will be held at M J Edwards Airways from 5-8 p.m., Friday, February
4. Celebration of life services will be noon Saturday, February 5 at
Magnolia Baptist Church. M J Edwards Funeral Home 901-327-9360 Published in The Commercial Appeal on February 2, 2011 To Contact Us: |
