Leon Terry Weaver, 61, of Memphis,
transitioned from this life to his heavenly home on July 6, 2009
at Methodist University Hospital. Mr. Weaver served in the U.S.
Army. where he was a member of the Berlin, Germany Bears
Basketball Team. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High
School class of 1965, and also attended Tennessee State
University. He is the son of Margaret Lindsey Robinson, and step
son of Josephine Weaver. He is survived by two daughters,
Rochelle Shaw (Los Angeles, CA) and Nikki Weaver of Memphis; two
sons, Tondrick Tate, of Memphis, and Joshua Weaver (Los Angeles,
CA). Seven sisters, Gloria Weaver-Haney, Regina Lewis-Morris,
Vicki L. Benson, Carol Walker all of Memphis; Evelyn A. McGee,
Leuvetta Cummins, and Toya Shumpert all of Tupelo, MS. Five
brothers, Marlon K. Carter and Stephon Coleman of Memphis;
Alfred M. McGee, Michael McGee of Tupelo, MS. and Sean Weaver of
Charlotte, NC. Arrangements are being facilitated by R. S. Lewis
and Sons Funeral Home, 374 Vance Ave. Memphis, TN. Service will
be held Saturday, July 11 at 12 noon, Mt. Moriah East Baptist
Church, 1248 Haynes Rd. Memphis, TN. Pastor, Dr. Melvin Charles
