MARY MAGDELENE WATKINS, 82, of Memphis, widow of Jessie J. Watkins, retired musician of 61 years of Greater New Shiloh Baptist Church where she was a member died on Friday, January 8, 2010 at Baptist Hospital East. She was an alumnus of Booker T. Washington High School and Shelby State Community College. The following services will be held at Greater New Shiloh Baptist Church, 839 Maywood Street. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 15 from 5-7 p.m. Visitation Saturday, January 16 from 10-10:55 a.m., with Funeral Ceremony at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in New Park Cemetery, 4536 Horn Lake Road. Dr. Fred C. Lofton officiating. Her life and legacy will be cherished by her daughter, Tyria Perkins of Memphis, TN, two sisters, Elizabeth Mitchell of Lakeview Terrace, CA and Remell (Bill) Hence of Las Vegas, NV, one brother, Robert (Earlene) McCoy of Memphis, TN, three grand-children and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
