PASTOR CARL HICKS, 59, of Memphis, Pastor of New Salem Baptist Church, graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and retired from UPS, died May 22, 2011. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Saturday, May 28 at Greater New Salem Baptist Church, 1189 Mississippi. Services will be 1 p.m., Sunday, May 29 at Lake Grove Baptist Church, 265 Leath St., with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. He leaves his wife, Ruby Hicks; three daughters, Tandra Hicks, Carmen Hicks and Angela Winfrey; one son, Marc Hicks of Memphis; his mother, Charlesetta Hicks of Memphis; four sisters, two brothers, seven grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
