Patricia Toney-Butler, 68, died on July 3, 2010. A native Memphian, she attended Booker T. Washington HS, class of 1959. She gave her life of service as an educator for over 35 years in the Tulsa Public School and the Memphis City School systems. After retirement, she continued to serve others through tutoring and volunteering. Throughout her life she worked with underprivileged kids during many summer, educational enrichment camps. She was a member of Phi Delta Kappa and a founding and life-long member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. Patricia leaves to cherish her loving memories, her son, Darryl Jones, her daughter, Angela White (Leon), three grandchildren, Bianca, Brook Lynn and Blake, cousins and devoted friends. A memorial and tribute to Patricia Toney-Butler will be held on August 13, 2010 at Mt. Olive Cathedral C. M. E. Church, 538 Linden Avenue at 10 a.m.
