OBITUARIES

 

 

RUDOLPH WILLIAMS “Rudy”, 70, of Memphis, TN, musician and known as “The Mayor of Beale St.” died suddenly May 31, 2011. Mr. Williams was a U.S. Army Veteran, a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and attended Langston University. A Music Memorial Service will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church on S. Wellington. Motorcade will be at 1 p.m. on Beale St. Burial will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Marva B. Williams; one daughter, Meighan A. Williams of Memphis; two brothers, Fred J. Williams and Raymond Williams (Mary Lee) both of Memphis; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and music family. N. J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home 901-948-7755
