OBITUARIES

 

 

STONEWALL MAYS, JR., 78, of Memphis, retired self-employed owner of Mays Paint and Body Shop, served in the U. S. Air Force, alumnus of Booker T. Washington, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the V. A. Medical Center. He will lie in state on Monday, March 30, from 10-11:55 a.m. at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, 1410 Pillow Street, where he was a faithful member, with funeral ceremony at 12 Noon. Rev. James Greene will be officiating. Interment will follow at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Barbara J. Mays, four daughters, Patricia McIntosh, JoAnn Horne (Onzie), Rhoda Stigall, all of Memphis, TN, Constance E. Minor (Raynard) of Naperville, IL, sisters, Velma Tucker, Lucille Powell, Eva Jo Wilkins, JoAnn Wilkins and Evelyn Moore (Lee), brothers, Randy Mays, Jackson, TN, Brett Wilkins (Tina) and 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
