THELMA WELLS GREENE, 87, of Memphis, passed away
Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Methodist University Hospital. Widow of Alvin
L. Greene, Sr., she was a 1938 graduate of Booker T. Washington High
School and a legacy member of St. Andrew African Methodist Episcopal
Church. Mrs. Green was a retired employee of First National/First
Tennessee Bank after 35 years. Visitation will be from 4-6:30 p.m.
Thursday, June 12 at N. J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services
will be at 12 noon, Friday, June 13 at St. Andrew A.M.E. Church, 867 So.
Parkway East. Burial in New Park Cemetery. She leaves to cherish her
memory three sons, Alvin L. Green, Jr. (Bonnie) and Dennis Gerald
Greene, both of Memphis and George Edward Greene (Shirley) of Romulus,
MI; two daughters, Annetta D. Hill (Ron, deceased) and Helen Vernita
Burbridge; 13 grand-children, 24 great-grandchildren, two brothers,
Willie Wells (Coralene), Raymond Wells, Sr. (Edwina, deceased), and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. N. J.
